Hell Hath No Fury Like a Hairdo Interrupted

Women cane morality police
Maryam Namazie
January 10, 2012

Islamists have been harassing shop owners and female customers in rural towns around Egypt for ‘indecent behaviour’ and enforcing Sharia law. Shop owners have been told they can no longer sell ‘indecent’ clothing, barbers can no longer shave men’s beards, and customers ordered to veil and threatened with severe punishment if they did not abide by ‘God’s law on earth’.

Okay yes, I know business as usual… But when they burst into a beauty salon in the Nile delta town of Benha and ordered the women to stop what they were doing or face physical punishment, the women struck back, whipping them with their own canes before kicking them out to the street.

Now the ‘moderates’ will tell you that these are the acts of mere vigilantes. But that is how it always starts. The ‘vigilantes’ are at least more honest. They point to the al Nour party’s win of nearly 30% of parliamentary seats as giving them a mandate to enforce Sharia. And they say they have the moral and financial backing of that party.

On hearing the news of the women’s fight back, someone has suggested that ‘the women should be deputized to protect the revolution’s democratic values’.

Can I second that please? freethoughtblogs.com

The since modified graphic above, I found along with other interesting and useful graphics, at mauryk2.com. The one below I connected to very strongly. To know the reason why, you will have to have a look at the bottom of my post: Rick Santorum's Top 10 Most Outrageous Campaign Statements and then go to this post of mauryk2. Mucho lol.

Yes there is a certain irony with all of these groups, they live in the dark ages but they are internet savvy.

Can you imagine if the web was around in Mo's day? Bugger would have never been off it.

But then maybe not, he was illiterate after all.

I always wonder if those teenagers would have killed themselves anyway or if it is due to that Facebook thing. M

I wondered the very same thing Maren, is it a modern phenomenon like anorexia say?

How sad, what a waste.

Social networking becomes the reality and not life itself!

Amanda Todd documents a painful tale of being harassed through Facebook and shunned at school, leaving her feeling alone and suicidal.

I can never get that photo back, she writes.

Perhaps the best message.

Near the end of the video, she writes: Every day I think why am I still here? ... I have nobody. I need someone.

Now there is an outpouring of support for Amanda’s friends and family on a memorial Facebook page.

Sigh.

Sad, so terribly sad.

I think I could write a dissertation on this, but I don't want to.

So I will leave it at sad.

Totally inappropriate comparison,
a woman in her thirties?

It's a scary world.

Himself said...

As you say Maren, a totally inappropriate comparison.

Putting aside that she is a drama queen; why else would she upload the clip, I can't help but wonder just how stable she is.

I think her bitter personality and her feminism has come back to bite her on the arse, she is infamous, now and forever, and I think it's getting to her.

I did translate both tweets though, but for some reason I can't paste them here.

Poor little Anna Ardin!

Her second tweet (bit.ly/TuI1Pr) about "Anonymous" has been removed, not smart and cool enough I suppose.

The number of her followers is mystery to me. It makes me wonder what's wrong with being a woman, assuming you're born in the right body.

Anyhow, I'm glad that I'm a woman and there's no AA in the world that's going to change that.

It's a luxury having the ability to control your own body as for relationships, it makes us obliged to "share" that with women who don't have such a luxury.

Somewhat Dunglish I guess, but I'm sure you get the gist.

Love to you gentleman. Mx

OT The first thing I saw when I came on line.

Anthony Bennett ‏@zampos

News item from local paper #HarlowStar re #McCann s attempt to jail me.

They omitted most of what I told them #libel

Will he never learn?

Good morning Chuck.

Feminists: Where I might harbour certain sympathies for them at times, I wouldn't want to date one in the least.

I like like women who, like yourself, enjoy being a woman.

Be it in twin set and pearls, a little black number, or ragged out as a total slut. J'adore the feminism not the feminist.

As I may have mentioned before, I'm find this fashion enchanting, I would have no trouble at all, stepping out with a sweet little thing on my arm.

http://bit.ly/Q8pycu

But they are all so young, and I'm not, which brings me to the conclusion that I might be too old for them, but they ain't too young for me!

There's been a bit of that in the news lately. Hmmmm

He will never learn; martyrdom and dogmatism. However, I wonder if the McCanns do welcome such publicity.

Blue jeans occasionally, also good? It's so practical :)

However, I wonder if the McCanns do welcome such publicity.

Me too honey bun, I don't know if Bennett will end up biting them in the arse, but I fancy Amaral might, surmising that is, the court isn't already loaded against him.

And given what we have witnessed to press, there's every chance of that.

But who can tell what the outcome might be when every institution and every walk of life seems so totally corrupt. The normal rules don't apply any more.

And to show just how wrong a fellow can be, I have always thought/hoped that someone well monied might have got extremely pissed off with the antics and bullshit of the Mcs and might have waded in and put a stop to it once and for all.

I don't consider myself naive, but then perhaps I am.

I have no doubt whatsoever that the truth will out one day, I only hope I'm still around to witness it.

Because I'm sure I'm not alone in wanting to bang the big "I fucking told you so" drum.

PC maintenance time now, update to Firefox 17 and endure wavy scrolling or try my hand with Google Chrome, the trouble with that, is having to import loads of stuff.

I might just leave it for my geek.

Sleep well my lovely. xx

Yes, stable instability. How scary is that.

Disgusting, hypocritical creature, using Amanda Todd's - a teenager - tragic story for her own ends.

I almost feel sorry for SW, the cashmere girl, nothing more than a naive fan.

Anna Ardin is not a feminist, she's a poisonous fuck, literally and figuratively.

FARC scoffs at media coverage:

Holanda, as we call her affectionately, has been selected for her pretty face in order to revive FARC’s international work and to cover up our villainous face with her beautiful smile.

Thanks Chuck.

I have a little job to do now, putting a roof on Mama's bird table.

Nasty old seagulls (mother's words) keep swooping down and robbing the food she puts out for the little ones.

I still can't get over the Amazon thing.

Coincidently the first thing I looked at today, on the second arising, was an ad from Amazon.

I have been thinking of treating myself to a Kindle Fire.

Until that was, I discovered you have to buy a £10 app to remove adverts.

With such a marketing ploy as that, I wouldn't have one if they gave me the fucking thing.

Do you have a tablet yourself?

Right so! get the tools out.

mother's words; the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree <3

Here it’s cats instead of seagulls. Having no cat myself, the neighbour ones meet in our garden; not robbing food, but the little ones themselves. I’ll spare you my "words".

I don’t have a tablet, but I’m thinking about it since I made a 180 degree turn in this funny old world.

Imagining a wonderful roof on the bird table, with best regards. Mx

Good morning Maren, I pray you are well?

Fascinating thank you.

Evolution in progress.

Cuckoos and other brood parasites often wind up locked in evolutionary arms races with their hosts. As the hosts learn to spot the unwelcome eggs, the brood parasites make eggs that look more like those of the hosts.
