Only in America Folks, Only in America

More Creationist nonsense from the One Nation Under God

I should write a little more on Noah and his boat, it is after all my pet subject, but I guess I don't feel very creative today.

Just a couple of indisputable facts though about this mythological boat, leaving all the other nonsense aside.

1 It wouldn't float, it would fall apart, it's too big to be constructed out wood, there ain't enough strength in timber to support a vessel anywhere near this size.

The first ripple, let alone hundred foot waves for forty days and forty nights, would have seen the thing in bits. And if if could have floated; leaks, what about all the leaks? ask any man who has ever owned a wooden boat about leaks and see what his answer would be.

And how many were crewing this here boat? eight I believe. They say no one bails faster than a drowning man with a bucket, but let's be sensible about things.

2 By the Creationist timeline, it was the stone age when Noah knocked this thing together. By a rationalist timeline, it was the bronze age.

In either case, what did Noah use for a saw? Add to that a saturated atmosphere that would drown you as you stood, if you hadn't already been crushed to death by the increase in atmospheric pressure. I won't go into the fact that water is a finite resource, I shall save that for the other blog.

The seaworthiness of the ark has been recently checked using sophisticated computer programmes. It was found to be as good as, if not better than, modern ships, and was able to withstand waves up to 100 feet high".

See below main text for more startling revelations of this nature.

In Kentucky, Noah’s Ark Theme Park Is Planned

Facing a rising tide of joblessness, the governor of Kentucky has found one solution: build an ark.

The state has promised generous tax incentives to a group of entrepreneurs who plan to construct a full-size replica of Noah’s ark, load it with animals and actors, and make it the centerpiece of a Bible-based tourist attraction called Ark Encounter.

A rendering of a park centered on Noah’s ark, seen below in a 19th-century woodcut, planned for Grant County, Ky. Besides the ark, it would include a Tower of Babel, a first-century village and a journey through the Old Testament.

Since Gov. Steven L. Beshear announced the plan on Wednesday, some constitutional experts have raised alarms over whether government backing for an enterprise that promotes religion violates the First Amendment’s requirement of separation of church and state. But Mr. Beshear, a Democrat, said the arrangement posed no constitutional problem, and brushed off questions about his stand on creationism.

“The people of Kentucky didn’t elect me governor to debate religion,” he said at a news conference. “They elected me governor to create jobs.”

The theme park was conceived by the same Christian ministry that built the Creation Museum in Petersburg, Ky., where dioramas designed to debunk evolution show humans and dinosaurs coexisting peacefully on an earth created by God in six days. The ministry, Answers in Genesis, believes that the earth is only 6,000 years old — a controversial assertion even among many Bible-believing Christians.

Although the Creation Museum has been a target of ridicule by some, it has drawn 1.2 million visitors in its first three years — proving that there is a sizable paying audience for entertainment rooted in a literal interpretation of the Bible.

On Friday, The Lexington Herald-Leader, Kentucky’s second-largest newspaper, criticized Mr. Beshear in an editorial for a plan that it said would result in low-wage jobs and a poor image for the state.

“Anyone who wants to believe in a literal interpretation of the Bible has that right,” the editorial said. “However, the way the Beshear administration handled this makes it appear Kentucky either embraces such thinking or is desperate to take advantage of those who do.”

The developers of Ark Encounter, who have incorporated as a profit-making company, say they expect to spend $150 million, employ 900 people and attract 1.6 million visitors from around the world in the first year. With the Creation Museum only 45 miles away, they envision a Christian tourism corridor that would draw busloads from churches and Christian schools for two- and three-day visits.

“It’s our opportunity to present accurate, factual biblical information to people about a subject that they’re really interested in,” said Mike Zovath, a senior vice president of Answers in Genesis.

In the interest of verisimilitude, the ark is to be built with wooden pegs and timber framing by Amish builders, Mr. Zovath said. Animals including giraffes — but only small, young giraffes — will be kept in pens on board.

“We think that God would probably have sent healthy juvenile-sized animals that weren’t fully grown yet, so there would be plenty of room,” said Mr. Zovath, a retired Army lieutenant colonel heading the ark project. “We want to show how Noah would have taken care of them, taken care of waste management, taken care of water needs and food needs.”

Ark Encounter is designed to be a model of environmentally sensitive development, Mr. Zovath said, to minimize its carbon footprint. “I don’t believe in global warming,” he said, “but I do believe we’ve got to be good stewards of everything God’s given us.”

The park will include a 100-foot Tower of Babel, a first-century Middle Eastern village and a journey through the Old Testament, with special effects depicting Moses, the 10 plagues and the parting of the Red Sea. For children, there will be a petting zoo, live bird and animal shows and a play area with ziplines and climbing nets — all Bible-themed. Even the trainer, Dan Breeding, will present animal acts with a Gospel message about creation.

Under Kentucky’s Tourism Development Act, tourist attractions can get back up to 25 percent of their development costs over 10 years from sales tax generated at the facility. Ark Encounter stands to receive $37.5 million — a quarter of its investment.

The entry fee for adults would be somewhere in the middle- to upper-$30 range, said Cary Summers, the lead consultant, who has run large entertainment attractions in Branson, Mo., and helped expand the Bass Pro Shops into shopping and entertainment complexes.

Mr. Summers said the developers had options on 800 acres of land in Grant County, Ky. If all the approvals are granted, they expect to break ground next year and finish by 2014.

He said they had been offering the proposal quietly for two years, and also showed it to officials in Ohio and Indiana. But Kentucky was by far the most receptive and offered the most generous financial incentives, he said, because it sees tourism as a promising means of economic development.

Officials in Kentucky’s Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet said in a telephone interview that they examined the constitutional issues carefully before proceeding. They said that Ark Encounter is unlike the Creation Museum, which is run by the Answers in Genesis ministry and received no tax incentives.

Ark Encounter is owned by a profit-making company, of which Answers in Genesis is a part owner. The ministry will manage the park’s day-to-day operations.

William Dexter, general counsel for the tourism cabinet, said the most applicable precedent was American Atheists Inc. v. the City of Detroit Downtown Development Authority. A federal Court of Appeals found that Detroit could give grants to churches as well as businesses to encourage urban renewal.

“Our facts are quite similar, except that in our case it’s a tourism development by a for-profit corporation,” Mr. Dexter said.

But some advocates of separation of church and state say that by providing tax incentives to an explicitly Christian enterprise, Kentucky is violating the constitutional prohibition on government establishment of religion.

Erwin Chemerinsky, a constitutional scholar and founding dean of the School of Law at the University of California, Irvine, said: “If this is about bringing the Bible to life, and it’s the Bible’s account of history that they’re presenting, then the government is paying for the advancement of religion. And the Supreme Court has said that the government can’t advance religion.”

He added, “The fact that it’s an economic development plan doesn’t excuse it.” NY TIMES

Noah's Ark
September 4 2002

The fact that all the animals on earth could have entered the ark and lived on it or a year is well demonstrated in John Woodmorappe's "Noah's Ark: A Feasibility Study", Institute for Creation Research, 1995. The animals went in by twos or sevens (Genesis 7 v 2), and did not include sea creatures.

The following sentence appears in "True Science Agrees with the Bible", by Malcolm Bowden, Sovereign Publications, 1998 (p. 26):

"The ratio of length to breadth in the ark is 6:1 and it is only after years of trial and error and many experiments that ship designers have found this to be the most suitable ratio. The seaworthiness of the ark has been recently checked using sophisticated computer programmes. It was found to be as good as, if not better than, modern ships, and was able to withstand waves up to 100 feet high".

The folly of trying to convert the dimensions of the ark into metres is shown by the fact that in doing so, one of the Bible translations has thereby lost the exact 6:1 proportion referred to above.

Christ regarded the building of the ark as an historical event (as indeed He did the creation of Adam and Eve): "But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered the ark" (Matthew 24 vv 37-38).

The after-effects of the flood can be seen in the layers of sedimentary rock which cover the globe, most of them laid down in precise horizontal layers, stretching up to dozens of miles in length in places (the Grand Canyon being a prime example). The flood entombed billions upon billions of animals as it progressed - leaving what are now known as fossils.

Arnold Mendez. Texas A&M, Corpus Christi. I Have A Question For You

.

The accepted consensus from religious sources is that Noah lived in a period 2500 years BC.

http://www.nwcreation.net/noahsark.html

http://www.nwcreation.net/biblechrono.html

The accepted consensus is that the Iron Age started no earlier than 1000 years BC.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/british/timeline/ironage_timeline_noflash.shtml

http://www.findadig.com/timeline/iron_age

Given that Noah lived 1500 years before the Iron Age would you please explain to me what Noah used for a saw to build this mighty vessel?

The answer to this question is fundamental to your whole hypothesis.

Should any student of Mr Mendez read my question you might want to consider asking Mr Mendez for a suitable answer.

Mister Mendez has his own label on this blog.

Arnold Mendez

.
I don't really know how I ended up strolling down this path, perhaps it was talk of Ratzinger and his Satan hunt in a previous post, but then again it could be going through the archives to label previous posts.

No matter really, but I did end up totally revamping and adding a little more script to this cartoon. I could write a little story to go with it I suppose, but then I think the cartoon says it all really.

What I did though was to give Mendez a label all of his own, after all he is worthy of a dedicated spot on the blog being a bit of doozy on the science front n'all.

You might check him out in the sidebar or Noah's Ark, another new label.

Update: I've just recapped the three "Baby Shaking" articles, (search Mendez label) start at the bottom of the results page and read and watch the clips in sequence, I think you might find the whole shebang worth watching.

Arnold Mendez Is An Idiot, Chapter 970

'

What with the Fred and Wilma museum opening I thought it time to do the math on this here boat that Noah knocked up in his back garden.
So we will read the original architect's specs and determine a size.

"And God said unto Noah, . . . Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch. And this [is the fashion] which thou shalt make it [of]: The length of the ark [shall be] three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits. A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; [with] lower, second, and third [stories] shalt thou make it. " (Gen. 6:13-16)

Which indisputably converts to (all dimensions in feet) 450 long x 75 wide x 45 high.

Now before we go any further, a wooden vessel of this size is quite simply an impossibility, it would simply fall apart with the first ripple. Wood does not have the tensile strength to sustain the stresses involved.

There has never been a wooden vessel built that comes even close to these dimensions, and as the Victorians found to there cost when they tried to push the envelope in timber, you require an awful lot of iron to keep the thing from falling apart, and I'm talking iron beams not nails.

So just as an academic exercise let us have a look at this here boat of Noahs'.

A three decker, a ship of the line no less, so three decks plus a top and a bottom, for our purposes five decks.
So I have taken as a reasonable assumption planking width for the decks to be eight inches.

Now every boat has longitudinal stringers, and here I shall keep the number low at 30

A boat also has frames or ribs if you wish, and here again I will be generous and place them at three foot centres.

And just before I throw a few figures at you, anybody that has ever built a boat will tell you there are as many saw cuts that are not part of the boat as those that are, all the cuts to waste as it were.

So here we go. again all dimensions in feet.

Longitudinal stringers...........................30x450=13,500
Frames bottom..........................................150x75=11,250
Frames sides x 2........................................150x45= 6,750
.......................................................................................6,750
Crossbeams x 4 three decks + roof 150x75=11,250
......................................................................................11,250
......................................................................................11,250
......................................................................................11,250
Decks x 5 number of planks at 8 inch. 112x450= 50,400
......................................................................................50,400
......................................................................................50,400
......................................................................................50,400
......................................................................................50,400
Sides x 2 number of planks.......................67x450=30,150
.......................................................................................30,150
Bow and stern number of planks...................67x75=5,025
.........................................................................................5,025

Gives a total of..........................................................423.600 ft.
Multiply four sides, don't forget cutting to waste=1694,400
Divide by 5280...........................................................= 320 miles of (with grain) saw cuts.

And that's the basic hull and decks, no stalls for the dinosaurs taken into account.

But there is another little cuddly that rears it's little bothersome head in this equation, it's fifteen hundred years before the Iron Age, what might I ask did our Noah use for a saw?

And if you think I'm a right sad bastard for doing the math on this all I can say is go and visit our friend Arnold Mendez and have a look at his math. (and reasoning) Now that's what you call a proper sad bastard.

Now if you're a bit of a cynic like meself you'de might be thinking how old Noah managed to put this bit of a boat together, it being the early Bronze Age n'all, well guess who has a few few answers for us, non other than himself our old pal Ken Ham and his Answers in Genisis

How could Noah build the Ark?
The Bible does not tell us that Noah and his
sons built the Ark by themselves, and Noah
could have hired skilled laborers. However, there

is no reason to believe that they could not—or
that they did not—build the Ark between them-
selves in just a few years.

The physical strength and mental processes of
men in Noah’s day was at least as great (quite
likely, even superior) to our own. They certainly

would have had efficient means for harvest-
ing and cutting timber, as well as for shaping,
transporting and erecting the massive beams and
boards required.

If one or two men today can erect a large house
in just 12 weeks, how much more could three or
four men do in a few years? Adam’s descendants
were making complex musical instruments,

forging metal and building cities—their tools,
machines and techniques were not inferior to
the ones we use today.

It is evident from examining the “mysteries”
of earlier civilizations that the human race has
likely lost just as much (maybe even more)
knowledge from before the Flood as it has
gained since that time. The idea that ancient
generations were more primitive than ours is an

evolutionary
concept.

In reality, when God created Adam, he was
perfect. Today, the human intellect has suffered
from 6,000 years of sin and decay
—though
computers (a tool designed and built in the last
60 years) are compensating a great deal for our
natural decline in mental processing power,
permitting us to gather and store information as
perhaps never before.

This Is Wrong, So Very Very Wrong. Lies, Damn Lies, And Then Their Are Christian Answers

"We are becoming a laughing stock in the world" the words of a member of the board of education in the American state of Kansas. These opening words from a previously featured Ch.4 clip creationist museum There does however speak a voice of reason on the subject of this Creation "Science" Museum, Henry Brinton, a minister of the Presbyterian Church, "I would not want my children taken to that museum by a science teacher and exposed to that material as a scientific approach to understanding the world."

But I fear no such voice of reason is to be found in the pages of this site that to me represents the epitome of ignorance, lies and child abuse. It's a shocker, as you will glean from the few snippets below, and lets not kid ourselves this is aimed at the very young, (go off in the side bars)
There is all this hullabaloo that kids might come across a nipple on the net or someone might try to get into there knickers, if ever a filter was needed to protect kids then this is the sort of stuff they really need protecting from.
What earthly chance do these kids have of growing up a balanced adult if they are subjected to this propaganda and shite when they are hardly out of diapers, Grrrrr

T
he Creator. God's Son, Jesus Christ, created the dinosaurs, the stars, and you. Since He made us, He owns us. He has the right to tell us what to do and how to live. God is the wisest and most loving being in the universe.........

Sin Always Brings Pain. Adam's body was more perfect than ours today. He lived for 930 years before he died..........

God Punishes Sin. The Flood reminds us of God's punishment for sin--death..............

You can escape the punishment you deserve. By turning to Jesus, you can be forgiven and one day live forever in Paradise. There is nothing that you can do to save yourself. Only Jesus can save you...........more

Is this the kind of thing that kids should be exposed to?

There is tripe such as below from start to finish in the site, it is so terribly terribly wrong.

WHY DID GOD CREATE DINOSAURS?
Why did God invent so many different kinds of beautiful, interesting and surprising animals? Perhaps because He wanted to delight Man with His power, wisdom and love.

WHAT WAS LIFE WITH DINOSAURS LIKE,
All of the animals were friendly and under man's control. None of the animals ate meat or killed. God provided the plants and seeds with all the vitamins people and animals needed. There was no sin, no death or evil or disease.

Or you can go to the Q&A page if your intellect can withstand the assault

Noah's Flood,Everything You Wanted To Know by Ken Ham

'

I think I better declare this crazy day, things are going beyond the pale. If I had not just read this truly astounding piece of nonsense with my own eyes I would not have thought it possible that a grown man could put pen to paper and write such fucking tripe.

What is really scary is this guy is not one on his own, he's one of tens of millions who have given up any last bit of rational thought they may have once possessed. And even scarier is the adults will be taking their kids along to Ken Ham's creation museum and stuffing their tiny minds with this utter nonsense; what hope for the future, I despair.

If my kids were that age again I would sooner throw them stark naked into the clutches of the boy buggery club before I would let them within a hundred miles of the likes of Ham.

More Fundamentalist Madness

How BIG was Noah's Ark?
How many animals did Noah's Ark hold?

"And God said unto Noah, . . . Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch. And this [is the fashion] which thou shalt make it [of]: The length of the ark [shall be] three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits. A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; [with] lower, second, and third [stories] shalt thou make it. " (Gen. 6:13-16)

A cubit is the distance between an adult's elbow and tip of the finger, generally 18-inches. Most Hebrew scholars believe the cubit to have been between 17½ -21½ inches long. This means that the ark would have been 450 feet long, 75 feet wide and 45 feet high if the 18 inch cubit was used. If a larger cubit was used it would have been proportionately longer.

The displacement tonnage of the ark, which is the weight of water it would displace at a draught of 15 cubits, would be more than 22,000 tons. By comparison the U.S.S. Salem, a 716-foot-long heavy cruiser commissioned in 1949, has a displacement tonnage of 21,500 tons. The ark's gross tonnage which is a measure of cubic space (100 cubic feet is one gross ton) would be 15,100 tons. The ark's total volume would have been 1,518,000 cubic feet. This would equal the capacity of 569 modern railroad stock cars. The standard size for a stock car is 44 feet long and a volume of 2670 cubic feet. This would make a train more than 5 ½ miles long. The floor space for the ark would be over 101,000 square feet. This would be more floor space than 21 standard college basketball courts. By comparing the measurements of the ark it is easy to see that it would be comparable to today's ocean going vessels. It was probably the largest vessel of its type built until the late 1800's when metal ships were first constructed.

Not bad going for the Stone Age.

WHY did people live longer
BEFORE Noah's Flood than they did after it?

One of the most intriguing facts in the Bible is the immense life spans of the patriarchs before and just after the flood. Adam lived 930 years, Methuselah the longest lived of the patriarchs lived 969 years. Noah lived 950 years. Many scoffers state that these extended life spans are nothing more than myths and legends. They state that the figures given for the various ages of the patriarchs are fabricated.

There are many factors that could account for the lowering of the life spans after the flood. The Bible states that the flood would not only destroy the land dwelling air breathing animals but it would also destroy the earth. (Gen. 6:13; 9:11)

After the flood the earth was completely different than the earth before. There were widespread global differences. These would include changes in the climate, composition of the atmosphere, hydrologic cycle, geologic features, cosmic radiation reaching the earth, ozone concentration, ultra violet light, background radiation, genetics, diet, and a host of other subtle and/or profound chemical and physiological changes. These changes caused a rapid decline of the longevity of post flood humanity

Of course, whatever you say.

The Ark, Creationists, And A Case For Mandatory Baby Shaking. Final Part

.

Before starting this final instalment on insanity I must first pay tribute to Johnplex , not only for supplying the clips that I have made use of in these articles, but for enduring what for me at least was unendurable; sitting down and editing out a few minutes of usable film out of a seemingly endless amount of absolute drivel.
That he took the time and effort to organise the Reverend Ricky material and juxtapose it with the Mendez/Davies tripe is quite commendable.

I can say this without fear of contradiction for I Googled Mendez/Ark this morning and came up with both a site for Mendez and one for Tomorrow Television.
They both offered various film clips which I duly downloaded and subsequently waded through for the purpose of this article.
Having suffered forty minutes of Mendez and Davies talking absolute shite I then turned my attention to Mendez and one of his Ark Seminars, well peeps, if you think I was going to subject myself to an hour and three quarters of Mendez strut his Ark nonsense to a bunch of fundies then you don't know me, which of course you don't.

No my little buttered mushrooms, some things are above and beyond the call. I would go as far as to say three to five in the big house struck me as a more attractive proposition.
I shall post the links at the end of this, do as you will.
I did however come across other stuff that can only be described as head shaking. Not head shaking as in baby shaking, but head shaking in that unbelievable/how sad kind of way, the slow side to side way that one associates with material of such magnitude.

At this point please sit a moment and make yourself receptive to talking on board the enormity of what an adult male of the species is actually doing here. The trouble he has gone to with all his models, the "Scientific Data" he has amassed, and the fact he can present it to others without the least bit of embarrassment.

To ignore every bit of common sense, every scientific fact, every geological timeline, (look up carboniferous period. coal, plate tectonics in Creation Wiki to name a few) ignore all and everything, talk the most ridiculous talking points, anything in fact, just make a case for the existence of a god, for Noah, and a bloody Ark, man oh man, and we as atheists are asked to show respect to the likes of Mendez and the millions of others just like him that wallow in this adopted ignorance they call religion.

So let us have a look then at more clips from Johnplex.
Clips Four and Five have some interest, if nothing more than to show prime examples in the use of non sequators. Hitler/Stalin/Pol Pot were Darwinists, ergo Darwinism is evil.

It is clip Six that is the real gem as it shows Mendez making his case for there being aboard the Ark a creature, the most ferocious beast ever to walk the earth and already dead some sixty five million years.

Mendez: God created the reptiles, (dinosaurs) they were created because Satan, the Great Serpent, he was over the world of the dinosaurs, and he fell and the dinosaurs took on the nature of Satan and became very ferocious.

So now you know.

The Ark, Creationists, And A Case For Mandatory Baby Shaking. Chapter Two

The plot thickens.

Survival of the fakest, it's very interesting that in the history of the evolution of evolution that there have been a number hoaxes, some of them in the very foundations of so called evolutionary science to the point where you really wonder how any intelligent person could really believe this and especially teach it to wide eyed bushy tailed kids whether in the high school or the university level.

Davies gives Mendez another quick blow job, but still fails to name the university, and then the fun begins, cut to mendez and his model ark and watch this "science teacher" from a "major university" strut his stuff.
As he tells us and shows us just how big the ark was supposed to be it never occurs to him that the more he makes his case for this "huge" ark the deeper the hole he is digging for his case.
Given the so called biblical timeline for all this, I have a question for Mendez.

It's twenty five hundred years before the Iron Age, what did our Noah use for a goddamn saw?

There would not be just tens of miles of saw cuts, there would literally be hundreds of miles of the feckers.

A case for baby shaking if ever there was one, grab hold of this idiot and shake the stupid bleeder until his head fell off, because I don't think you could ever shake sense into it, not if you shook it all the way back to the beginning of the universe, and I'm talking our timeline not his.
Give me bleeding strength
Clip Two

Scientific American was appalled that the average American just doesn't want to believe in evolution. snip.
On the Smithsonian: Isn't it a problem that Americans don't believe in what the Government is promoting. It wasn't a question just rhetoric.

Appalled? they must be mortified. Cut to Mendez's "Science class" lots of Jesus talk, and have a look at the age of his students.

It's not natural for animals to eat each other, they have taken on the nature of Satan. What is natural for animals is to live in the way they were created in the Garden of Eden.
Clip Three.

Another violent shaking moment if ever there was one.
Enough for now, a man can only take so much, more later.

The Ark, Creationists, And A Case For Baby Shaking

.

In the beginning there was clip one. Before we move on to view some of the most amazing examples utter stupidity and how readily and proudly it is displayed by these fundamentalist clowns let us first examine some portions I have transcribed.
That I have taken the trouble to do so is for the main two part. The first , the obvious, no write no article. The second, it will save you rewinding the clip when you have one of those "I can't believe what I just heard" moments, believe me you really did.

Clip one opens with Howard Davis, minister for the United Church of God, hosting the television programme "Tomorrow" and after some initial gobble de gook explains the subject for today is "Evolution as a religion"
Davis goes on to introduce his pundit as Arnold Mendez, a university instructor of hard science who is with a "major American university" but fails to name this seat of learning.

It is not my intention to transcribe this verbatim, but you have to know, as Mendez explains in his opening gambit that evolution is not based on science, it is based on slanting of the data and other misconceptions, so now you know.
As Mendez continues to enlighten us with more of his scientific facts, Davis takes a moment out from blowing Mendez to ask some inane questions, but mentions this "major university" "that a lot of other people would recognise in other parts of the United States." but still fails to mention the name, why am I starting to smell a rat? (it turns out to be Texas A&M, Corpus Christi) anybody want to enlighten me?

Then the clip cuts to various players that will feature in this series of clips (Hat tip Johnplex)
Watch Mendez teach some "science" and take note of the age of his students, and we shall see more of Reverend Ricky in the next clip. I am at a bit of a loss as to the significance of the toilet seat, it's not something we wear in England, perhaps it's fashionable, but surely only in America.

It's not been the best couple of days that I have been having but will get clip two up in a few hours, so don't go watching the rest of them, do you hear?

Ark Ark, Is That A Boat Or A Laugh

.

It wouldn't be much of a laugh if you had to hand saw five hundred miles of timber down the grain.
I did some rough calculations based on god's instructions to Moses and using six inch wide planks.
Mind you, when you live for six hundred years, what's a saw cut or two?

Noah You Knock Up A Mean Piece Of Wood

.

I can definitely cancel the comics, there's hours of fun to be had.

The book of Genesis describes Noah's Ark as a wooden vessel 300 cubits long, 50 cubits wide, and 30 cubits high. Based on the shortest estimated length of the cubit, this means it was at least 450 feet (135 meters) long, 75 feet (22.5 meters) wide, and 45 feet (13.5 meters) high. These proportions are ideal to meet the demands of a ship's sea-keeping, hull strength and stability. The ark's size is equivalent to an average cargo vessel by today's standards, which is in line with the limits of timber construction.
