Just to prove what a contrary bugger I can be, I am not going to have a rant about this, unlike 99% of the comments that follow the article.
Given the "Honour" mindset of many Muslim families and husbands/brothers I could well imagine the scenario where a woman could quite easily be denied access to hospital treatment for fear of bringing "shame" on the family.
It is not unimaginable that the family would prefer the woman to die before being allowed to shame them in this manner, after all when schoolchildren are prevented from leaving a burning building because they are not dressed "correctly" anything is possible.
And don't be thinking "Ah but that's in Saudi Arabia" there are still plenty of cases of "Honour" killing here in the UK, or cases where women are lured out of Britain for the sole purpose of being murdered for bringing "dishonour" to the family. link
