Not much of a choice. Clusterfuck.
Meanwhile a couple of mortars drop in on Blair's visit to Basra, in reply we hear this from he who is about to resign and leave the whole bloody mess behind him.
“There are mortar attacks and terrorist attacks happening every day, that’s the reality,” said Blair. “The question is, what are we going to do in the face of these attacks?
“The answer is, we don’t give in to them. The very purpose of the attacks, the suicide bombs, the mortars aimed in here, is so that you will carry nothing but that on your news and won’t actually talk about the progress that’s happening here.”
You can read the rest of his shite here.Full link for comment.
This was another clip I saved, I thought it was quite telling.

Just checked in. Lots of good posts. The mess with Padilla is wrong on so many levels. I can not believe this sort of thing is going on in this country, with the governments full approval no less. If this man is convicted I fear it will set a precident that will forever change the judicial system. What is to be done when the government begins to declare everyone opposed to its regime a threat? Are they just going to begin to round us all up and put us in concentration camps? It may sound alarmist, but it is a very short jump when all things are concidered. Very scary. HH
Kind words fair maid, I'm just in myself, spent a few hours with the Mammy.
More's the point with Padilla, if the jury finds him innocent, (hopefully) what then, A shrug of the shoulders, sorry about the five years abuse.
And the Dems aren't blameless on this, I haven't heard much from them on the subject, minority party or not they should have been up in arms over Padilla's treatment, no they were more worried about being labled soft on terror than the slightest bit of justice for the man, he is afterall an American.
Funny you should mention concentration camps,it was only this morning whilst I was doing a bit of research that I came across this, not too far from yourself is it?
I will put a link in the post if it doesn't fit in here.

Yes, that is close to my area. This is somthing that should scare every american citizen. As far as Padilla is concerned, the government is very good at not accepting blame when it messes up. If he is found innocent, I can almost place money on this, the media will give a big "horaah" and there will be cheers all around and then this will just quietly go away, with those who do speak up being branded "conspiracy theorists" or "trouble makers". What one would hope to happen in the event of his being found innocent would be the prompt removal of several key players accompanied by criminal charges. Well, now you know what I think will happen and what I hope will happen. I do not want to be let down by the american people yet again. Complacency is very damaging for any government, and maybe doubly so for this one. HH
