Matt Frei's Washington Diary: Life As An Anchor


The ever gentle Matt Frie reflects, not without humour, on his transition from roving journo to anchor for BBC World News America link here, or at the bottom of the article.

After 17 years on the road in southern Europe, the Balkans, the Middle East, Asia and America, it seems like entrapment, or at least confinement.

But it was my choice, I am having a blast, and there is no better country, I believe, to start one's career as a presenter - or "anchor" as my type is customarily called in the US.

Not only does America matter, but it is also blessed with people who are a gift to English language broadcasting. more.
