A Verdade Da Mentira - The Truth About The Lie - English Version

.
Bump.

Goncarlo Amaral's A Verdade Da Mentira - The Truth About The Lie, presently under a temporary gagging order in Portugal, can be read in English at any of the following sites.

From My Big Desk - Anna Andress, without who's tireless efforts in translating from the French to English, none of this would be possible. If you feel inclined you might show her a little love.

Goncarlo Amaral Truth Of The Lie Blogspot. Tribute blog with lots of other information.

The Truth About The Lie Blogspot, plain text easy to read.

And a worthy read it is I may add, little wonder the two people charged with keeping their daughter safe, though not as yet charged with her demise, are desperate to keep the book out of Britain.

It will be bad enough for them that it is freely available to be read online, but to have it staring out of every bookshop window in the land must be stuff of nightmares.

Doctors McCann, hiding a cadaver [corpse occultation] and simulation of a crime [faking the crime of kidnapping] lying and fraud, J'accuse!

Again, many thanks to Anna Andress for bringing us all the English translation of A Verdade Da Mentira, The Truth About The Lie.

I’m with the ex police chief on this. He must have got close to the truth if the book is still not allowed to be sold in UK or Ireland yet available in every other country.

Perhaps if we could read this book it maybe interesting.

There’s alot more to this story that in time will come out.

From: Libel trial McCann v Gonçalo Amaral - Day 4 Witness No1

The Judge asks wasn’t there something during the investigation that led to their constitution as arguidos.
MW [Michael Wright] Not particularly. He adds he wasn't involved in that matter.

The Judge states that two facts were established:

1) The British police dogs detected the scent of human blood and also that consistent with a cadaver bring present.

2) These dogs detected the smell of human blood in the car rented by the McCanns.

Q – Didn’t you find it strange that the dogs found traces of blood in your room and in your rental car…

Gerry – There was no blood found! The indicia are worthless if they are not corroborated by forensic information. And they were not.

Q – Aren’t you curious to know what the book says?

Kate – What for? It must be nothing but a load of rubbish. It is so secondary… It certainly won’t help to find our daughter. My consolation is that on the cover he calls her Maddie, the name that the media have invented. We never called her anything like that.

The translation that appears on the Internet is taken from the French version of Goncalo Amaral's book, L'Enquête Interdite - 'The Forbidden Investigation'. The French edition of the book was not published until 03 May 2009. There has never been a translation from the Portuguese. And in case anyone should protest that Wright had the English narration of the broadcast documentary in mind, that programme did not materialise until April 2009 either.

As for Michael Wright, the best advice one might offer is 'Lawyer-up mate!' That's what funds (sorry, friends) are for, is it not?

-----------------------------------

ID - When did they read the book and watch the documentary?

MW [Michael Wright] – They read the book when I sent them the translation that was on the internet in August 2008. They heard about the documentary in March/April 2009. There was a big campaign in Praia da Luz, they needed people to support them and the documentary had a negative effect on that.

Case: Policeman Goncalo Amaral poses with his book entitled 'Maddie:The Truth about the Lie', which the McCann's [sic] say is cruel and damaging

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2458369/So-breakthrough-end-slurs-Kate-Gerry.htm

(...)"But within weeks the police story changed dramatically. It has emerged at the Lisbon libel case, and linked hearings, that both Portuguese detectives and British police who were helping the investigation suddenly suspected that Madeleine had died at the apartment and that her death had been covered up by her parents.

More disturbingly, evidence given at the hearings by some of Portugal’s most senior policemen peddles that deeply wounding view even today.

For example, Chief Inspector Tavares de Almeida has said: ‘The conclusion… was that the McCann couple simulated the abduction to hide the fact that they had not taken care of their children.
‘There was a tragic accident in the apartment that night and they neglected the care of their children. It was the conclusion of both the Portuguese and British police. We have always spoken of a tragic accidental death. There was no murder. The McCanns did not kill her, but concealed the body.’

He added that the controversial book by his police colleague was a ‘true history of facts’, closely based on the actual Portuguese police files: thousands of pages, recordings and film, including the statements of the so-called Tapas Seven, other witnesses at Praia da Luz and forensic evidence.

Mr de Almeida claims that suspicions about the McCanns appeared to be confirmed when sniffer dogs, brought from Britain, found traces of blood and the ‘smell of death’ in the McCanns’ holiday apartment. In evidence at the libel trial last week, Luis Neves, head of the Portuguese organised crime and kidnapping unit, went further. He said it was the British police who ‘first developed the theory’ that Madeleine had died at the apartment.

I have discovered that this has been confirmed in diplomatic correspondence sent by the US ambassador to Portugal, Al Hoffman, to the US government about a meeting with his British counterpart, Alexander Wykeham Ellis, four months after Madeleine’s disappearance and just after the McCanns were temporarily made suspects by the Portuguese.

Hoffman said in the cable, marked confidential: ‘Ellis admitted that the British police had developed the current evidence against the McCann parents, and he stressed that authorities from both countries were working co-operatively.’"

This is interesting, (Netherlands) with links all over the place.

I am just about to follow up on:

Alisha Owen

A little girl called Alisha Owen gave evidence in the Franklin child abuse scandal.

Reportedly, the Omaha police chief, Robert Wadman, had got her pregnant.

Alicia Owen’s brother.

Her brother was murdered.

She named top politicians.

A judge sentenced her to 27 years in jail for perjury.

I did a post on this years ago, where I thought Owen had received 8/12 years? for perjury, which is telling enough.

Will check it out.

xx

Himself said...

The consensus is that she was sentenced to 9 to 15 years, but here it mentions three, nine year consecutive terms.

http://www.american-buddha.com/franklincoverup.17.htm

Snip

Unlike most of the children who were abused during the scandal, Alisha Owen did not come from a massively dysfunctional family. Her parents were stable church-going Christians who happened to have energetic, rebellious teenagers. At the age of 14, she fell in with the wrong crowd, started going to Larry King’s parties, and later claimed that Robert Wadman, the Omaha chief of police, had raped and impregnated her and shoved the barrel of his gun up her vagina. She was put on trial for perjury.

Under enormous pressure from the media and law enforcement to recant, she refused. Friends who previously supported her story did recant and testified against her (and later recanted their recantations). Her younger brother, under arrest for joy riding in a stolen car, was found dead in his jail cell shortly before her trial. It was ruled a suicide despite indications of a beating before he ostensibly hanged himself. Nick makes a strong case that Owen’s lawyer, Pamela Vuchetich, was having an affair with the FBI agent, Mickey Mott, who appears to have been orchestrating Owen’s prosecution. Just before Owen’s trial, Vuchetich abandoned her client and started representing two key witnesses for the prosecution. This alone violated four or five of Owen’s constitutional rights. The account of the trial must be read to be grasped. Suffice it here to say that I didn’t think such a blatant kangaroo court was even possible in the United States, and none of the appeals went anywhere.

Owen did four years in prison for perjury. She has been a model citizen since her release and raised her daughter, who, I’m told, looks like Wadman.

Thanks Chuck, I was hoping to read some kind of transcript, though not much going on. It's a slow business.

I think the highlight, and to everybody's delight, judgey telling McCann to sit down and STFU.

I wish I knew a bit more about the law. Supposing she finds against the McCanns, does that mean costs are automatically awarded against them?

Because I would have thought there would be two separate issues involved, court costs and the three defendants costs.

That's assuming of course, the decision is black and white, cut and dried. But that might not be the case? There could be all sorts of conditions and grey areas that might apply.

I'm only speculating, but the law can be a strange thing, and not least Portuguese law.

I don't think my questions are as naive as they might sound, given the possibilities.

Anonymous said...

Bonjour mon gros champignon au beurre,

As far as I know the judge will examine case-by-case whether the losing party should pay. The judge can also decide that party must pay a proportion of the costs. It also depends on the ability to pay. I don’t know about Portuguese law.

Now that the McCanns have sacrificed another child, what’s next?

Judge – Do they have a global idea about what people say?

KMC mentions that her son, in October asked her why Mr Amaral said that they hid Madeleine. She answered that there were many stupid things in his book.

Judge – How did your son know about that? How was it possible if you were careful to prevent access to the book?

KMC thinks he heard it on the radio, in the school bus.

http://www.justpamalam.co.uk/Kate_McCann_08_07_2014.htm

Kate thinks he heard it on the radio, in the school bus, so actually she doesn’t know. Better make an enquiry I’d say. M

The judge says that in a civil trial the parties aren't allowed to spontaneous depositions. But she allows him [Gerry McCann]: please do speak!

GMC says that he wants to make a comment about the dogs; he wants to make it clear that it is not a fact that they detected blood...

The judge interrupts him – The issue here isn't not to elucidate what actually happened. The perspective, in this trial, is to determine whether the book and the documentary affected the plaintiffs.

GMC – But the book mentions facts that aren't true.

The judge – The point isn't to establish whether things are true or not, this is not the issue. We want to know whether we are in the juridical remit of offence to persons. For this it's not necessary to know what the truth is. As a judge I'm not supposed to stand in for a criminal investigation.

As far as the psychological stuff, Points 3-6, is concerned readers have already witnessed the absence of medical witnesses, the shocking amateurishness with which the couple’s “experts” put forward their speculations and the non-appearance of any genuinely professional assessments in court. To be unable to provide a single tame psychiatrist to testify in these days when "experts" will queue up to confirm anything the fee-payer claims was quite an achievement, wasn't it? The pair would have done better to claim that Amaral had driven KM clinically mad - at least then they could have quoted selected passages from Madeleine as evidence.

Hi H. Same thoughts, same questions.

Two different issues: Harm to the McCanns/the investigation due to Amaral’s book/documentary, and that what happened to Madeleine. I remember:

GMC says that he wants to make a comment about the dogs; he wants to make it clear that it is not a fact that they detected blood...

The judge interrupts him – The issue here isn't not to elucidate what actually happened. The perspective, in this trial, is to determine whether the book and the documentary affected the plaintiffs.

Just hypothetically speaking: If SY will “prove” Amaral “wrong” prior to court ruling, then A verdade da mentira becomes harmless, worthless and unsellable. That’s the McCanns main objective, the money is an incidental benefit and used as a threat to strengthen their case, IMO.

Judge rescued, Amaral “wins” and the McCann have reached their goal.

But then, what do I know M

And the children at this school have been fed 'Madeleine McCann' since the little girl vanished. They kept an empty chair for her, the child who had never ever attended this school.

If they did not want stories of Madeleine being talked about then they should have asked the school not to keep an empty chair for Madeleine. So unfair to the other little kids who at that time would have been commencing school for the first time, their big day, to be overshadowed by such a tragic event as Madeleine going missing.

Well, I do know as yet SY has not succeeded. So, the judge had to ban further sale of Amaral's book?

Amaral’s book, which was a bestseller in Portugal, was particularly controversial because it was released just three days after the Portuguese attorney general’s office decided to shelve the search in July 2008.

The court said it was not proven that the allegations made in the book “contributed to hindering, in any way, the course of the investigation” into Madeleine’s disappearance.

Kate added: “They know Mr Amaral has written a book and about the documentary. They obviously don’t know the detail. We had advice from a child psychologist. He told us to let the twins lead the conversation so if they ask a question try to answer it honestly. I believe what’s in Mr Amaral’s book and the documentary is very distressing to adults. To a child it could be very, very damaging.”

You couldn't make it up. The twins don't know the detail, but they lead the conversation. M

Good morning Maren

What do you know?

Try this from Martin Roberts email of yesterday evening.

This decision (if such it be) is so contrary as to point up the only paradigm capable of embracing it: UK ltd., having spent £10m on Grange and finding no further evidence to incriminate the McCanns, need now for the saga to go away. But Grange, compromised already beyond belief, would sink beneath ridicule if the civil case against Amaral were to have been dismissed. He could not be seen to have won the argument as that would expose to the greater public the avoidance tactics employed by SY.

About the same as MR by the looks of things.

Will try and answer your other stuff later today Chuck, I'm going back to bed shortly.

Mr Ashley Wilkins

I've never commented on-line before but if this makes me a 'Troll', I'm proud to be one. I always supported the mccan's, sent them cash and bought the holiday packs and T.Shirts. Since the article in the Sun, I have read the CMOMM forum and read much of the case files. I simply can't believe what has been hidden from us for so long. I was so trusting and naive, I simply cannot believe the amount of evidence - the dogs, the 48 questions, the crazy Tapas 9 stories, the entering through front door - then the back door - I could go on but won't bother. What is going on with UK/Portuges establishments and the MSM ? What is being covered up? I am truly shocked and speachless and will be donating this monthly amount until Amaral gets his 25k. What was WW2 all about - What is going on in this country?

That road to Damascus, it's an amazing thing.

How are you my mon petite tulipe?

Pray forgive if my responses have been a little tardy. If I'm not bogged down on twitter, then I appear to be quite busy. For that very reason I suppose. (twitter)

Bonjour mon champignon au beurre,

La tulipe va bien, merci. No lack of responses, bogged down on twitter, I’m all eyes.

I got sidetracked, too.
