Us and Them. Chapter 3647

Papers in the Middle East and elsewhere applaud ....

Many feel that Iran has emerged the victor from the crisis but at least one warns the Iranian leadership not to let this success go to its head.

I have commented little on this story, far too many unknowns, but in words similar to Rumsfeld's gobbledegook there are at least two known knowns.

We Brits know how little those of middle eastern culture know about the psyche of us Brits, (and the West in general) From Blair down to the man who keeps our streets clean, (no offence intended) there wouldn't be one of us that would not hold Iran in more contempt and with more disdain than already previous.

If
Ahmadinejad or the mid eastern press think this shabby little display of theatrics has done anything to enhance the chances of future constructive dialogue they haven't a clue as to what makes us tick. And that's a known known, to us at least. Press Reaction.
