American Woman said - US Exceptionalism

Sometimes something comes along and you think, oh my! I've got the cream to go on those peaches.

The peach in this case, a fifteen minute video on the subject of US Exceptionalism and the American psyche.

Although the video is embedded below my chosen text, might I recommend you watch it first, in order that the true significance of the text can be truly appreciated.

Layla Anwar - Arab Woman Blues is an Iraqi blogger and she's pissed, mightily so in fact, and as you might imagine, she has every right to be.

I have featured Layla in the past, you will find her in the sidebar. But for the purposes of this post, it's not Layla Anwar per say that concerns us, but rather the comments of  "American Woman" responding to one of Layla's articles. Two of which can be found at the link below.

The link for for the original, can be found here, for what, in actual fact, is a bit of a mega-post:

Behold: The U.S. God Of War. A Brief Statement of Hate and Hypocrisy Writ Large

Where you will find the relative article: God Bless America

Awwwww you hate me Layla? That really breaks me up!!! Good God, how pathetic can you get? Let that hate consume you...go ahead, let that hate flow...do it for me.

You know, this blog entry should be the automatic response sent to every American who agrees with anything you have to say. You know, the ones who kiss your ass, begging for forgiveness of their sins. I am talking about the Americans who don't think they are included in your hate-speak - when, in fact, you have more contempt for them than anyone else. You make my skin crawl.

Hate me - I still have electricity
Hate me - I have running water
Hate me - I have a job & money
Hate me - I have law & order
Hate me - I don't spend my life stand in line
Hate me - I have Medicine & insurance
Hate me - I own a house
Hate me - I have a big family who love me & I love them
Hate me - I live in my own country
Hate me - I am a Christian
Hate me - I can walk down the street without fear
Hate me - I am laughing at you
Hate me - IT'S AN HONOR!!!

Face it, Americans are far more innocent than Iraqies. Iraqies relate perfectly to their so called fearless leader, Saddam - a cold, indifferent murderer himself. What is so lovable about you? You are purple fingered traders, liars, cry-babies, backward shits, cowards, sectarian & tribal assholes, fundimentalist nuts, pedophile worshipers, crooks & criminals, rapists, pimps, whores & torturers.

I need to take a bath just thinking about you people....while you enjoy wrapping yourself up in that new American flag you invented....you sick fuck...

How lovely.

The question is: are there sufficient brainwashed people in both countries to sustain the US/UK myth that “freedom and democracy” are attained via war crimes?

There is no shortage of brainwashed Americans who love to be told that they are “indispensable” and “exceptional,” and therefore entitled to work their will on the world. It is difficult to discern in these clueless Americans much hope for the revival of liberty. But there is some indication that the British, who did not inherit liberty but had to fight for it for five centuries, might be more determined.

Post Iraq – in the White House and Pentagon – the supine obedience of the British parliament is no longer quite the given that it was.

So, irony of ironies, it may well prove that that most abject and dutiful slave to US foreign policy, Anthony Blair, is the man who finally made it possible for the British parliament to think and decide upon matters of warfare all by itself and, on occasion, to say no – not just to the prime minister, but to the White House.

The march against the Blair-Bush Iraq invasion was the biggest these islands had seen, at least since the Chartist rallies. And it probably outnumbered even them. It was the mother of all focus groups showing its disgust over the coming mother of all battles.

It was utterly ignored.

Last night, the mother took her revenge with dramatic eloquence.

After the British parliamentary setback the US Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel said: “Our approach is to continue to find an international coalition that will act together. It is the goal of President Obama and our government... whatever decision is taken, that it be an international collaboration and effort.”

Can you believe how ridiculous these American puppets sound? What the deluded Americans do not seem to realize is that they are on their own. The only entities willing to support their aggression on Syria is Saudi Arabia and Israel. So, how’s that for credibility? The only support Washington can muster is from a feudal, sword-wielding, head-chopping regime and a criminal pariah genocidal state. Coalition of the Willing? More like Coalition of the Killing.

The primary job of a soldier is to destroy infrastructure and make widows and orphans—whenever he is told to do so and without questioning his orders. Perhaps killing people they shouldn’t kill and breaking things they shouldn’t break wasn’t always the top priority of U.S. soldiers, but it certainly is now. Since World War II, the U.S. military has been used exclusively for purposes other than the actual defense of the country. And if that weren’t bad enough, most of these purposes have been nefarious and offensive. Since World War II, U.S. soldiers have functioned exclusively as the president’s personal attack force staffed by mercenaries willing to obey his latest command to bomb, invade, occupy, and otherwise bring death and destruction to any country he deems necessary.

My working and personal relationship with President Obama is marked by growing trust. I appreciate this. I carefully studied his address to the nation on Tuesday. And I would rather disagree with a case he made on American exceptionalism, stating that the United States’ policy is “what makes America different. It’s what makes us exceptional.” It is extremely dangerous to encourage people to see themselves as exceptional, whatever the motivation. There are big countries and small countries, rich and poor, those with long democratic traditions and those still finding their way to democracy. Their policies differ, too. We are all different, but when we ask for the Lord’s blessings, we must not forget that God created us equal.

Morning Chuck.

The strangest thing about that article, was Putin invoking God.

I wonder how many times he did that when he was swanning round in the KGB?

Another goddammned hypocrite I guess.

Who is we?

The politics of cynicism?

The benefit of the doubt, for the time being.

If Putin had wanted to give obama the full rebuke that obama deserves, Putin could have said: “obama is correct that the policy of the US government is what makes the US exceptional. The US is the only country in the world that has attacked 8 countries in 12 years, murdering and dispossessing millions of Muslims all on the basis of lies. This is not an exceptionalism of which to be proud.”

Whatever, but the irony is delicious, you could eat it with a spoon.

I think I shall wander over to twitter and see what I must reply to.

I should finish a couple of posts, but a bit late in the day for creativity. And it won't be tomorrow either, busy busy.

“I wonder now how the foreign policies of the United States would look if we wiped out the national boundaries of the world, at least in our minds, and thought of all children everywhere as our own. Then we could never drop an atomic bomb on Hiroshima, or napalm on Vietnam, or wage war anywhere, because wars, especially in our time, are always wars against children, indeed our children.” Howard Zinn, 1922-2010.

"So Putin spits in the eye of US hypocrisy, something anyone on the dirty end of the stick of US power can easily recognize. Only US imperialists cannot see it. George Bush can invade Iraq and say "the US does not torture" when everyone knows the war was dishonest and US agents were using torture. So, OK, Putin sends in troops without insignia and says with his incredible poker face that he's not invading or occupying Crimea. The USA is being bitten in the ass by its own hypocrisy. And Crimea is likely only the beginning."

http://www.opednews.com/articles/Balls-Brains-and-History-by-John-Grant-Brainless-Conservatism_Crimea_Empire_Fascism-140311-673.html

"One of the amazing ironies of the Ukraine/Crimea imbroglio is talk here in the US of the "strategic" sale of natural gas from fracking in the United States. Sale of US fracked gas to Europe and Ukraine will put strategic pressure on Russia, which now sells gas to Europe and Ukraine. In other words, our nifty empire has gone from sucking oil and gas from under the sands of Saudi Arabia and Iraq to, now, sucking gas out of US geological layers in a manner that will potentially taint US water supplies and who knows what else -- all for strategic leverage over Vladimir Putin and Russia. How's that for balls? It's a literal case of a declining empire sucking the life out of its own homefront to reinforce its overextended imperial perimeter."

Morning Chuck

'Tis the American way, as well we know.

See my video tweet for a bit of gallows humour.

Still more to do on the house, and I have the girl's room to do yet.

Later honey bun, later.

Americans need democratic government like the rest of the world needs rid of Washington's thuggish global policeman.

This may come as a shock to many ordinary Americans who tend to think that their country is already the beacon of democratic light unto the world, bestowing all sorts of benevolence to others. Such delusional "American exceptionalism" has to stop. America is only special in a very negative meaning. It plays a central part in fomenting conflict in almost every scenario we care to look at.

How Americans Can Help World Peace

By Finian Cunningham

I think much is down to general intelligence of the nation as a whole.

I watched this recently, but not religiously, I kept pushing it on in places.

Now whereas I wouldn't expect Bigfoot hunters to be at the top of the intellectual tree, it wasn't just they alone that displayed levels of ignorance and stupidity that would make you shudder.

You won't be able to view it yourself, but you can read the full blurb.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b03z05nr/Storyville_20132014_Shooting_Bigfoot_Americas_Monster_Hunters/

But what you can do, is, start typing in the Google search bar - why are Americans so - and see what you get.

Said he resting his case.
