The accepted consensus is that the Iron Age started no earlier than 1000 years BC.

Given that Noah lived 1500 years before the Iron Age would you please explain to me what Noah used for a saw to build this mighty vessel?

The answer to this question is fundamental to your whole hypothesis.

Should any student of Mr Mendez read my question you might want to consider asking Mr Mendez for a suitable answer.

Mister Mendez has his own label on this blog.

Oh What A Tangled Web We Weave

.
Dedicated to my pretty new friend Joana Morais, a real fan of the "Comical One"

I was searching Google images for a "tangled web" and came across these photo's of what I can only think are the result of a whacky happy family letting of steam and having a bit of fun after completing a seven year marathon that is the building a log cabin by hand, and I mean by hand.

I am putting up but three photo's of the cabin, (North Carolina) there are in fact lots and lots of them from foundation to finished, if you ever wanted to know what went into building a log cabin, and believe me it's an awful lot, then this is the place for you.

It's worth a visit if only to have a little more appreciation of what were the kind of hardships that faced, and what kind of mettle the early pioneers were made of.

It's not a "proper" web site per se but a photographic record with a brief accompanying explanation. http://www.idgara.net/

Mother Pleads For Padilla. "he's not a monster"

.

I don't know how long these things take, this was from the 17th and nothing has broken yet but I don't fancy his chances, I don't think judge Marcia Cooke was anywhere near as impartial as she should have been, this case is a terrible stain on the country and is a testament to just what a shabby place America has become.

MIAMI - Jose Padilla's mother told a federal judge Thursday he is "not a monster" despite convictions on terrorism conspiracy and pleaded for mercy instead of the life prison sentence sought by prosecutors.

Padilla's lawyer also asked U.S. District Judge Marcia Cooke to consider the harsh, isolated conditions under which Padilla was held during 3 1/2 years in military custody as an enemy combatant.

Estela Lebron, who said she raised Padilla on her own, described him as a loving son who seemed to turn a corner in what had been a troubled life when he converted to Islam in the 1990s. Padilla was a gang member as a youth in Chicago and has a long criminal record.

"My son is not a monster, and he's not dangerous to society," Lebron said in a brief statement. "I believe in justice, and I believe what they are doing to my son is an injustice."more

What's Wrong With Lourdes Then? Oh Sorry Wrong Cult

But just as batshit crazy as the Buggery Club, stroll on! is there no end on this earth to all this incredible mumbo jumbo, mankind really is a complete bollox.

But it's this little paragraph further down the report does it for me.

The "cure" is simple - each visitor takes a pinch of salt from one of the many small bowls and eats it. It is believed that the salt has a special connection with the dead and will cure any illness.

Irony, solid twenty four carat irony, I just loves it. And it would appear that it's not only Missouri that has miracles, Afghanistan has them too.

"Several paralysed people have left the cemetery walking on their own two feet," says Sangeena.
Yes of course.

Drive on.

At Kandahar's Arab cemetery, victims of the US "war on terror" are revered by many as shaheed (martyrs) and their graves are believed to possess miraculous powers.

Each day, hundreds of sick people visit the graves of more than 70 Arab and other foreign fighters and their family members who were killed in US bombing in the southern Afghan city in late 2001.

Soon after their burial, a cult developed around them and the graves became centres of pilgrimage for many in the area.

People started seeing them as miracle workers, healers and intercessors for others before God.

Six.years.after.US-led troops ousted the Taleban, devotion to these "foreign guests" is still alive.

"Most of the visitors are sick people seeking blessings from the dead while others come hoping their social or financial problems will end," says Sangeena, a woman in her 50s who lives nearby and looks after the graves.more

Speaking Of Torture

.

Wasn't Zubaydah the fellow that admitted to being involved in just about everything going, I think he even cleared up the JFK assassination, or was that some other top al Qaeda official/terrorist/thingumy/grave threat to the United States of America?

It's this part that effects my grrrrr meter most badly, but don't let me mislead you, the story is about other things, the CIA tapes and the Justice Department investigating it's own.

There's another crucial dimension to uncovering the effects of what Zubaydah— terrified that he was about to drown— allegedly revealed during those "rougher" interrogations: There are several cases of purported terrorists before our courts who are being prosecuted on the basis of Zubaydah's desperate testimony in that CIA black site.

For example, American citizen José Padilla was arrested at O'Hare Airport in 2002, after allegedly conspiring with Zubaydah and Al Qaeda to set off a "dirty bomb" in the United States. Padilla—himself relentlessly tortured while being held for years as an "unlawful enemy combatant"—first appeared in court on those charges before none other than Michael Mukasey, at the time a federal judge in New York. Mukasey ordered him imprisoned on a material-witness warrant, based in part on the information that had been proffered by Zubaydah under waterboarding. Then, suddenly, Padilla was taken out of the federal-court system by order of George W. Bush and vanished for years without even a hearing or charges or access to a lawyer.more

America On The "Torture Is Us" List

.
Isn't it nice when your own government officials bring into the spotlight something the hierarchy chooses to not to reckognise, mind you it is difficult to get a clear perspective when you have your nose cemented in someone's arse.

Canada puts US and Israel on torture list.

An official Canadian government document has put both the United States and Israel on a watch list of countries where prisoners run the risk of being tortured, CTV television reported on Thursday.

The revelation is likely to embarrass the minority Conservative government, which is a staunch U.S. ally.

The document mentions the U.S. detention facility at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba where a Canadian man is being held.

CTV said the document was part of a course on torture awareness given to Canadian diplomats to help them determine whether prisoners they visited abroad had been mistreated.

It said the document mentioned U.S. interrogation techniques such as "forced nudity, isolation, and sleep deprivation."

Other countries on the watch list include Syria, China, Iran and Afghanistan, CTV said.more

Frenchman Shatters MacArthur's Round the World Record

That yoke is some piece of kit, I bet he had his "moments" in that rascal.

Frenchman Francis Joyon has smashed Ellen MacArthur's solo round-the-world record by more than 14 days.

The 51-year-old finished his circumnavigation in 57 days, 13 hours 34 minutes and six seconds to beat MacArthur's mark set in 2005.

He set off from Brest on 23 November and crossed the finish line on Sunday.

MacArthur congratulated Joyon but has not ruled out trying to reclaim the record one day saying "records are set to be broken".more

Dubya Makes A Phone Call.

,
Transcript of President's Call of Support to Un-Resigning, Embattled Family Values Warrior Senator Larry Craig of Idaho

SENATOR LARRY CRAIG: Hello? Hello? I can't hear you.

THE PRESIDENT: Senator Craig? This is the President.

SENATOR CRAIG: Hold on, Mr. President, let me turn down my music.

THE PRESIDENT: What were you listening to, Larry?

SENATOR CRAIG: Oh, Patti Lupone's poignant rendition of "Memories" from Cats. THE PRESIDENT: Uh, yeah.

SENATOR CRAIG: To what do I owe the pleasure of your phone call, Mr. President? I have to admit, it is good to hear from you. I'm not getting many phone calls from my colleagues in the Republican Party, much less the President of the United States.

THE PRESIDENT: No need to thank me, Senator. I just thought I'd call you and lend you my support during these trying times. I fully support your decision to un-resign. I'm a believer in loyalty, in fact, the blinder and more myopic the better. I'm also a believer that it is unnecessary to resign a cushy, powerful political position just because you broke a law, admitted your guilt, revealed yourself as a grotesque hypocrite, resigned in disgrace, and a few days later decided to take back your resignation. I mean, you got responsibilities to your campaign contributors! Yours is a flip-flop I can respect.

SENATOR CRAIG: Sir, your character is on full display. You are a man of honor, and a great American.

THE PRESIDENT: Thank you, Senator.

SENATOR CRAIG: How can I despair when a man such as you has my back?

THE PRESIDENT: And here's what those assholes in the press and the Republican sellouts don't seem to get: you've done a service for your country. Why, you've helped prove how disgusting faggotry can be. What a vile, disgusting, deviant lifestyle it is, where grown, married men tap their loafers and wave howdy to other men in public restrooms just for a chance to wash their faces in semen. By perpetuating the worst of homosexuality, you have totally overshadowed the millions and millions of healthy, stable, happy homos who make pretend they are husband and husband, or wife and she-walrus. Huckabee Rues Gay Animal Slur. Comes Under Savage Attack In SF

.
Gay Tiger Attacks Huckabee

Animal ‘Taunted’ By Bestiality Remarks

After making remarks in which he directly equated homosexuality with bestiality, former
Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee was attacked at the San Francisco Zoo by a gay tiger.

Mr. Huckabee had scheduled a campaign stop at the zoo where he made his controversial remarks about homosexuality and bestiality, not realizing that he was standing within earshot of a Bengal tiger with a homosexual lifestyle.

According to onlooker Tracy Klujian, 27, “The way that tiger started growling during the speech, you could tell that it felt like it was being taunted.”

As Mr. Huckabee’s remarks about homosexuality and bestiality reached their crescendo, the irate tiger leaped over an eighteen-foot barrier and began mauling the presidential candidate.

Within minutes, police responding to a 911 call rushed to the scene, where they fired tranquilizer darts at both the tiger and Mr. Huckabee, who had continued to make his offensive remarks throughout the mauling.

According to one aide, the unfortunate tiger attack incident had done nothing to change Mr. Huckabee’s position on gay marriage: “Not only that, but now he’s opposed to tigers marrying other tigers.”

In other campaign news, former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney used a speech in South Carolina to tout his life experience, including his stint as a generic white male Clipart illustration.

And in Florida, former Tennessee senator Fred Thompson picked up the endorsement of the National Association of Jowly Grouches.

Mr. Thompson promised the Grouches that if elected, he would tell those damn kids to get off their lawn.

In Case You Missed It: Maher And The Jesoids

.
Right so! on a lighter note, it's the third clip down. Jesoid: a term borrowed from a friend.

And I hate to show two Conan clips in one week, but I would be doing society a disservice if I didn't post this clip of Bill Maher boldly going where no other talk show guest has gone before: calling all religion "completely bat sh**". While discussing the list of candidates seeking the GOP nomination, Maher paused to reflect on the ridiculousness of "being a rational person six days a week... and on one day of the week, go(ing) to a building and think(ing) you're drinking the blood of a 2,000 year-old space god".

Note the shocked silence of the audience and the amazed disbelief of Catholic Conan. Props to Maher for the boldest answer ever given in a late night talk show interview.watch
I couldn't decide which graphic to put up, so they're both up. I wouldn't normally be a fan of big tits but if I were to be honest I would have to say I could quite easily rest my head there, the colour might have more than a bit to do with it. Maher seems happy enough judging by his shit eating grin.

Tragic Father Looses Mind Kills Daughter

.
I have just posted prior to this five quite depressing reports, I promised myself that I would endeavour to fill the rest of today's postings with things, if not altogether uplifting then at least try to get away from reporting the downers.

I read this story yesterday and it's such a tragedy that I thought it worthy of mention.
Printed in it's entirety, source requires registration for graphics.

~~~~~~~
The horrific scene when a devoted father "flipped" and battered his two-year-old daughter to death was described to a court yesterday.
Insurance executive Alberto Izaga suffered an "extreme and sudden" psychological breakdown which made him think the little girl was possessed by the Devil.
Sweating and shouting with rage, the 36-year-old millionaire ranted that "God doesn't exist! The universe doesn't exist! Humanity doesn't exist!"
His terrified wife was powerless to stop him as he shook and punched their only child before repeatedly smashing her head against the floor.
The Old Bailey heard that psychiatrists cannot say what triggered Mr Izaga's psychotic meltdown.
Shortly before the tragedy, however, he had been affected by seeing a horror film made by the director of The Exorcist.
Spanish-born Mr Izaga, who is being held in a secure mental hospital, appeared unable to take in what was being said as he sat in court.
He was supported by a large family group, including his parents, who have moved to Britain so they can visit him in hospital.
His wife, Ligia, 35, who also visits him every day, sat two seats away. Before the trial started the couple spoke amicably and during the lunch break they held hands.
Before last June's tragedy, Mr Izaga appeared to be living a charmed life. He had moved to London in 2002 and was a top executive at the insurance giant Swiss Re.
He lived with his wife and their daughter Yanire in a £1million Thames-side apartment with views of the Houses of Parliament.
The jury was told Mr Izaga was "universally liked" and "absolutely devoted" to his daughter, whom he described as "the most precious treasure on Earth".
But prosecutor Jonathan Rees told the jury how, in the weeks before the attack, Mr Izaga experienced two events that may have influenced his mental state.
The first was during a trip to New York, when Mr Izaga and his wife went to a cinema to find the only seats available were for the horror film Bug, directed by William Friedkin.
Not yet released in Britain, it concerns a swarm of cockroaches which crawl under people's skin, as well as Biblical themes.
Alberto and Ligia on their wedding day
Then, on a business trip to Geneva, Mr Izaga heard a motivational talk by adventurer Mike Horn, who spoke about leaving his family to go on lengthy trips and pushing himself to achieve his goals.
The evening after he returned, Mr Izaga was walking to a riverside restaurant with his wife when he started talking to himself and gesticulating wildly.
At around 4.30am the following day, he suddenly sat up in bed and started babbling incoherently.
Mr Rees told the court: "He began talking to his wife about the explorer in Geneva and the philosophies of the Jesuits.
"Referring to his fellow executives at Swiss Re, he appeared to indicate that they were part of a sect and trying to take over the financial world."
Over the next four hours Mr Izaga became increasingly worked up, bursting into tears and shouting about the film, the Devil and death.
At one point, his wife made a mobile phone call to a friend who recorded Mr Izaga raving in Spanish: "Death! Death! I know what to do. I have to kill her! She doesn't exist! Die Die Die! There is nothing left! I have to kill you!"
Neighbours, alerted by the shouting, went to the flat and found Mr Izaga cradling his daughter's bloody body.
Yanire died in hospital two days later.
Consultant psychiatrist Tim Exworthy said Mr Izaga may have thought she was possessed by the Devil. He said he remains profoundly mentally ill.
In a statement read to the court Mrs Izaga said: "It's impossible to believe this has happened. The best times were when the three of us were together and Yanire would start singing because she was so happy. She became our life."
In an unusual legal move, the prosecution and defence agreed on the facts of the case.
Under the 1883 Trial of Lunatics Act the jury found that Mr Izaga killed his daughter but was not guilty of murder "by reason of insanity".
The verdict means he will be treated in a secure mental unit until he is believed to have recovered.
After the hearing, his wife said: "I visit Alberto every day and we write to each other every other day. We discuss how we should re- start our lives. We tell each other not to give up."
Judge Richard Hone said: "This is a truly agonising case. No sentence I pass can ever match the sentence you will pass on yourself."source
