Benny Hinn Eat Your Heart Out And Where Do I Get Me Some Of That Anointing Water?

We have already had the 'pray away the gay' from the evangelical crazies of America. Now it appears we have 'pray away the HIV' from some dodgy geezer in Africa, or as the BBC describes him, Nigeria's third richest clergyman, No kidding, whodathunkit?

The only difference between these two charlatans, is one is federally funded and the other ain't. Oh, and perhaps I should mention, in the case of the latter, the results can be fatal.

At least three people in London with HIV have died after they stopped taking life saving drugs on the advice of their Evangelical Christian pastors.

The women died after attending churches in London where they were encouraged to stop taking the antiretroviral drugs in the belief that God would heal them, their friends and a leading HIV doctor said. BBC

So having read the BBC report, I decided to have look at Pastor T B Joshua and his Synagogue Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) and of course, the Pastor's universal cure all, none other than his own branded Snake Oil Anointing Water.

Anointing Water

At SCOAN London, we have seen practical proof that God can truly use any medium to express Himself. To His power, nothing is impossible. One of the mediums He is using in The SCOAN is the Anointing Water. Every week the Anointing Water is ministered in our services and God is using it mightily to bring healing, deliverance and freedom to people. You can read some testimonies of those God has healed, delivered and set free through the Anointing Water in SCOAN London here. Anointing Water

Not bad hey? And free too, well sort of.

Hi, yep I confirm that’s how they do it with the anointing water. It’s different depending on your nationality (so much for no favouritism in the church – James 2).
Nigerian members have to buy a large photo frame which a picture of TB Joshua and a “Quotable quote”. Its classic TB Joshua. He says its all about the words, it’s not about me, well why the picture then??? If it really is about the words on the frame then why on earth have a picture of him? I think it cost members N2000 ($13) or so. If you buy a frame then you wait after the church service and TB Joshua comes round and gives you the water.

That small revelation coming courtesy of dedicated site, TB Joshua Watch. Yes, I can well imagine he needs a bit of watching.

'Eat your heart out Benny Hinn,' my message in the header. Well, after finding this bit below in the comments section, perhaps you will allow me a mini-header?

COMING SOON…WRISTBAND WITH AUDIO DEVICE
The man of God raised people’s spirits when he talked about the new Anointing Wristband and its audio devices that will caution wearers about their behaviour and movements. According to him, the wristband is devised to remind you about your prayers, to ask you to check your tyres or to stop because of armed robbers.

I’m not even joking. TB Joshua Watch
As opposed to TB Joshua Fans UK Blog. I give up! Don't Jesoids talk utter shite.

And to put it all in the right perspective, a few miracle cartoons. I love these first two, they are such shades of Richard Dawkins, when he was questioning the head charlatan at Lourdes about past miracles. After the soothsayer had rhymed off a list of miracles, Dawkins said, ''But none of them provable, I mean nobody has grown a new leg or the like?

Missionaries of Hate: American Evangelicals Spread Gay Hate in Uganda: Updated

3rd update: I had the misfortune a few nights ago, to watch this forty five minute testament to homophobia and hate. And make no mistake, that's exactly what it was, pure hate.

Such hatred that can only be found in the ignorant and backward, especially when the flames for such hatred are fanned by the equally ignorant and backward Evangelical Christian missionaries of America. Who incidentally, don't have a Christian bone in their bodies, whatever one of those might be; Christian bones, not bodies.

I don't want to delve into all the talking points that the documentary raised, but I will make mention of one thing. Towards the end of the documentary, film maker Mariana Van Zeller, asks Scott Lively, Why Uganda? His reply was the usual blah blah, albeit said somewhat sheepishly, picking up on Van Zeller's implied but unasked question.

It doesn't take a great leap of faith to disregard Lively's blah blah, and come up with the answer that Uganda, complete with its ignorant and backward Christian sheep, was that just like the fertile soil of the country itself, so too were its adherents of the Christian faith, equally fertile, where the seeds of homophobia and hatred, once planted, flourish at an alarming rate.

It is without doubt, that Uganda and its people are ignorant and backward. Why else would such stories as these be so easily sourced on the Net?

Witch-doctors reveal extent of child sacrifice in Uganda BBC 15m clip. (Grisly)

Witchdoctors Arrested After Decapitated Woman Found findingdulcinea.com

Uganda - Child Sacrifice Scourge - Witchcraft wunrn.com

Experience tells us that we can never look to these men of God for the truth, for to expect the truth would be too anomalous from people whose whole life is spent living a lie. But perhaps if there were to have be any element of truth in Scott Lively's reply to the question, why Uganda he might have said: Because its so ripe for the picking, or alternatively, I just love shooting fish in a barrel.

I had wanted to bring you an embedded version of the film, by uploading the download I have to Youtube. but for reasons I won't bore you with, the clip has given me all kinds of problems.

The documentary itself, Missionaries of Hate, is quite a rare bit of film online, however I managed to track down a stream in three parts that can be viewed here. Alas, and for a change from some of my recommendations, where I carry the disclaimer ''UK only I'm afraid'' this is the complete opposite, and for copyright reasons is unavailable in the UK.

Perhaps someone outside the UK would click the link and please let me know if it can be viewed at all. It is available however for download at the link below. One link on the blog and another in the comments section, and both links good.

Another clip that gave me problems, was the four minutes of film from Orwell's 1984, depicting the Two Minutes Hate, did you get that? But for entirely different reasons than mentioned previously. Those problems in the form of, and pray forgive my slipping into a bit of West Cork vernacular, because sometimes nothing else seems to fit the bill as describing the two people that uploaded the clip to Youtube, as miserated. Choosing as they both did to disable the embedded feature, it's not as though they made the thing is it? Even an appeal by me for one individual to enable the embedded falling on stony ground. As I say, miserated.

No harm, where there's a will there's solicitor as they say, I captured the thing and then re-upped it to Youtube, embedded enabled, and it can be viewed below.

Why I felt the Two Minutes so important to the post, is that viewed in conjunction with certain parts of Missionaries of Hate, it becomes a bit of a job to differentiate between the two. The only difference being, one is fiction, and the other ain't.

I shall include a few pictures of the main players at the bottom of the page. I do this in order to get the best out of the post, explained here, (Japanese Embassies Around The World) but an online gallery of Uganda's Righteous Rogues, can be found here.

1st update: This is becoming an ever increasingly topical subject. I shall try and find a few links on the morrow.

-

2nd update: Here you go, Rachel Maddow has it all in eight minutes, the murder of gay activist, David Kato, inspired no doubt by, Scott Lively, Richard Cohen and ''The Family.''

The word ''Family'' in any US organisation, being a euphemism for a Jesus loving LGBT hate group.

Missionaries of Hate (2010)

Correspondent Mariana van Zeller travels to Uganda, where many question whether the growing influence of American religious groups has led to a movement to make homosexuality a crime punishable by death.

As an anti-gay movement spreads across the continent, gay Africans and their families face an increasingly uncertain future of isolation, imprisonment or even execution.

The film makes it much easier to understand why the general Ugandan public is so eager to send their peers to jail. If the most prominent spiritual leader in your community made it his life purpose to convince you that there were people coming to eat your poop and recruit your children, you would be against them too. They are only hearing one side of the story and it is the origin of their information that is truly infuriating.

Although Ugandan leaders are deeply offended by the notion, the facts definitively show that American evangelists have played a central role in defining the nation’s hard line against sexual minorities. The documentary focuses on American evangelist Dr. Scott Lively, who is widely credited with installing the dominant notion that homosexuals are after your children.

When asked if he condemns the legislation, Lively says that he condemns the death penalty aspects of the bill, but that overall the bill is a “lesser of two evils” compared to the prospect of having American gay activists do to Uganda what they have done to America.

Mugabe Not For Going

.

I have to plead guilty to neglecting the blog this past week, such is life.

My little old Mammy said to me yesterday, "He's eighty four, why on earth does he want to be be re-elected for another term."

Perhaps he's afraid of the knock on the door if he is no longer in power says I.

Ah so said the Mammy.

Black Bob is not for going.

Don't mind the graphic, nostalgia not racism and my penchant for word play.

Zimbabwe's ruling Zanu-PF has for several days been on the defensive.

In the face of the party's defeat in parliamentary elections, losing its majority for the first time in 28 years of independence, the leadership had nothing to say in public.

Requests for interviews were summarily dismissed. In private, Zanu-PF was trying to work out how to respond to what a serious and unexpected blow.more

Mugabe Warns.....

.

Black Bob is at it again, he's some player I tell you. Would you care to hazard a guess as to what the election result will be?

Zimbabwe's President Robert Mugabe has warned his opponents not to protest if they do not win elections on Saturday.

"Just dare try it," said the 84-year-old leader at one of his final campaign rallies. "We don't play around while you try to please your British allies."

It was this however that really caught my eye, the level of bullshit and disconnect sounds like it could have come straight out of the Whitehouse.

"People know the contribution he has made to the well-being of Zimbabwe and Zimbabweans in particular. So they love him and they want him to continue leading them until he completes the goals of the revolution."more

If You Think The Yankee Dollar Is On It's Knees, Try Zimbabwe

.
As the story previous, this picked up from a hard copy edition.

In most parts of the world, a man carrying around this many millions of dollars might be thought to be rich beyond his wildest dreams.

Not, however, in Zimbabwe where an inflation rate of 100,500 per cent has brought a level of poverty beyond the long-suffering citizens' worst nightmares.

As Zimbabwe slips further into economic collapse under the leadership of Robert Mugabe, ordinary citizens carry around bags of 100,000 and 200,000 notes bundled together in bricks to pay for the most basic of items.

In shops and businesses, electronic counting machines are as important as strong shoulders where £50 weighs in at nearly 40lb of the local currency.

It is common to see high denomination notes littering the streets, while businesses are reluctant to accept cheques or credit cards because by the time the amounts clear the system traders stand to lose significant amounts of money.

Banks are limiting the amount customers can withdraw each day because the central bank cannot print enough new notes to meet demand.more

Speaking Of Nigerians

.

These lads are not behind the door when it comes to dreaming up scams and it would appear that the gullible group for this little con are the Ozies.

Thousands of Australians are at risk from a relatively new online scam targeting the desperate and dateless, Queensland police say.

The state's Fraud and Corporate Crimes Group has noticed a growing number of cases of men and women being lured into online relationships by Nigerian fraudsters posing as prospective lovers.

In the latest case, Gold Coast resident Patricia (surname withheld for privacy reasons) lost $8500 when she became involved with a fraudster posing as an Australian retiree using the name "David''.

After six months developing what Patricia believed to be a loving relationship, David said he had to travel to Nigeria to sell some land, which he promised would set them up for life.

While there, he supposedly got mugged and asked Patricia to send money to help him return home.more

Zimbabwe Is Fucked

.
And you better believe it, when you leave a ten million dollar tip in a restaurant the economy is most definitely fucked.

I originally went to the BBC site to watch a short clip on the plight of Zimbabwe's aids victims and came across this clandestine short film from veteran reporter John Simpson, it giving a more detailed account of what's going on there.

Eighty Children Among Victims Of Kenyan Church Fire

.
How awful, poor little buggers.

Kenya edged closer to tribal warfare last night after more than 100 people – at least 80 of them children – burned to death as the church they had fled to for refuge was set alight. More than 200 people, mainly Kikuyus, the same tribe as President Mwai Kibaki, were sheltering for safety in the Kenya Assemblies of God church five miles outside Eldoret in the Rift Valley. An armed gang of young men drawn from the Kalenjin, Luhya and Luo tribes – ethnic groups which backed the beaten presidential candidate Raila Odinga – stormed the church compound yesterday morning and set it alight.

Joseph Karanja, a volunteer for the Kenya Red Cross, who arrived at the scene in the afternoon, said he counted scores of bodies. "They were piled up, on top of each other". He said at least 80 of the dead were children. "You could see from the size of their heads and bodies they were kids.

"There were also adults but I couldn't recognise the men from the women – they were all burnt beyond recognition. There were old, old people and women who could not walk. They and the children all got burned. Altogether there were more than 100 bodies.more

A Stolen Election: Is It Any Surprise?

.

Comments aren't really necessary. Next chapter, Black Bob of Zimbabwe.

Halfway through the count in Kenya's presidential and parliamentary elections, the opposition leader, Raila Odinga, was so far ahead - by 700,000 votes - that analysts predicted it would take a minor miracle for the incumbent, Mwai Kibaki, to survive. Last night, that miracle duly came to pass. Mr Kibaki was declared the winner with a comfortable majority, and the pro-opposition shacks in the south of Nairobi went up in flames.more

Nigerian "Witches" Why I Hate Religion Chapter Three Ad Infinitum

.

As horror stories go this is a horror story, but before moving on to the story proper let's take a look at the reasons that have allowed this abomination to flourish.

As with most stories of the woes that befall indigenous populations around the world there is invariably a white man involved and invariably that white man is clutching a goddamn bible.

Historically Africa as always been, due the ignorant and the backward that are so readily found there, fertile ground for the do-gooders and the sanctimonious that wish to spread God's word and bring salvation to the unenlightened.

Although old tribal beliefs in witch doctors are not so deeply buried in people's memories, and although there had been indigenous Christians in Nigeria since the 19th century, it is American and Scottish Pentecostal and evangelical missionaries of the past 50 years who have shaped these fanatical beliefs. Evil spirits, satanic possessions and miracles can be found aplenty in the Bible, references to killing witches turn up in Exodus, Deuteronomy and Galatians, and literal interpretation of scriptures is a popular crowd-pleaser.

Just as the missionaries of the past fifty years have played on the ignorance of the people now so it's the evangelical pastors of today that have taken over the job of filling heads with utter nonsense.

Were it just the teaching of the mumbo jumbo that constitutes the Bible , bad enough, but that which is going on today in Nigeria is far more sinister, and for no other reason that I can see than for these modern day men of God to make a few bucks.

Children are targets of Nigerian witch hunt

Evangelical pastors are helping to create a terrible new campaign of violence against young Nigerians. Children and babies branded as evil are being abused, abandoned and even murdered while the preachers make money out of the fear of their parents and their communities

The rainy season is over and the Niger Delta is lush and humid. This southern edge of West Africa, where Nigeria's wealth pumps out of oil and gas fields to bypass millions of its poorest people, is a restless place. In the small delta state of Akwa Ibom, the tension and the poverty has delivered an opportunity for a new and terrible phenomenon that is leading to the abuse and the murder of hundreds, perhaps thousands, of children. And it is being done in the name of Christianity.

Almost everyone goes to church here. Driving through the town of Esit Eket, the rust-streaked signs, tarpaulins hung between trees and posters on boulders, advertise a church for every third or fourth house along the road. Such names as New Testament Assembly, Church of God Mission, Mount Zion Gospel, Glory of God, Brotherhood of the Cross, Redeemed, Apostalistic. Behind the smartly painted doors pastors make a living by 'deliverances' - exorcisms - for people beset by witchcraft, something seen to cause anything from divorce, disease, accidents or job losses. With so many churches it's a competitive market, but by local standards a lucrative one.More and video

Zimbabwe Inflation Running At 15,000 Percent

.
And what's Bobs answer to all this? give the mines to the blacks, yes that's sure to work.

Zimbabwe delayed the release of latest inflation figures amid reports it had soared to a mind-boggling 15,000 per cent.

Officials said the inflation data might not be available "for a while", which was seen as an admission that the government of President Robert Mugabe had failed in its bid to hold back runaway prices.

The announcement of a delay came on the day Mugabe's government published a draft bill that would force mining firms to transfer majority shareholdings to black Zimbabwean owners, including giving the Zimbabwe government a free 25 per cent stake.more

Two Peas In A Pod. Zimbabwe-USA

I'm starting to be at a loss for words describe this kind of behaviour, little wonder we hear so little moralising from this administration about the goings on in Zimbabwe.
In a regime who's hypocrisy seemingly knows no limits, I think even they must know when it hasn't a moral leg to stand on.
Were Bushco to try to utter any moral word to Mugabe over his human rights record the evil sod would fall about laughing, perhaps halting just long enough to tell the US to look to it's own house before criticising anyone.

And who could blame him, personally I cannot differentiate between Mugabe's regime or Bush's.
America and Zimbabwe equals, brothers in the cesspit if you will.
This then the latest from Candace Gorman at Huffpo, but a more stunning read is to be found in the "brought up on charges" link to an earlier piece she wrote.

David Hicks, the Australian man that has been held in Guantánamo for five years, (the last year or so in solitary confinement) agreed to plead guilty yesterday. There are a few things you should know about his plea. First, and most importantly, Hicks is pleading guilty to a crime that did not exist on the books until September of 2006.

All of the original charges (the serious ones) were dropped against Hicks because the military had no evidence against him. Mr. Hicks was confined at Guantánamo until a new law could be passed that he could then be charged with. Never mind the fact that our constitution prohibits ex post facto (retroactive) laws, I mean that is why we are holding him at Guantánamo right?

When I Think Of All The Harm The Bible Has Done

When I Think Of All The Harm The Bible Has Done I Despair I Shall Ever Write Anything Equal To It. Oscar Wilde

The Bible! despair! you'd be distraught trying to equal this one Oscar.

Muslim pupils at a secondary school in northeastern Nigeria beat a teacher to death on Wednesday after accusing her of desecrating the Koran, police and witnesses said.

Angry!? angry doesn't come anywhere near when I read shite like this. I would like to take all the religious books in the world, make a huge bonfire and fuck all these religious cocksuckers onto it.
