ReplyDeleteWell that's fine, but the damage is done. What May as Home Secretary, or May as Prime Minister is not going to do, is hold her hand up and confess to being had over by a couple of scallies. Hardly Prime Minister material is it?
Not that Theresa May has been had over for a moment, not at all at all.
Theresa May, Hogan-Howe, to name but two, have conspired to pervert the course of justice and failed dismally to uphold the integrity of the offices they hold, that much is self evident.
But how on earth Theresa May can put herself forward as viable candidate with the knowledge that it only takes one person to break ranks and the whole shabby edifice will come tumbling down.
Because it is not me, you, or anybody else that is a threat to May/Howe, they don't give a damn about us. How can they, when the pair of them have had oversight of Operation Grange for the last five years?
Five years!
Five years, and the perpetrators, as the world knows, only live up the road.
I repeat, it only takes one, and that's as much as we can hope for. That's all we've got.

I did not write that, Tania Cadogan did. No ‘Work’ under ‘Work & Education’, no mention of Statement Analysis. To use her catchphrase: I can’t say it for her.
“three inner monkeys” is an oblique reference to ‘the three wise monkeys’ (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three_wise_monkeys). I intended the reference to imply jokingly that the pair you mentioned often speak in contradiction to what they see and hear.
The man and two women are of about the same age, hence it is not unreasonable to suppose that they are similarly capable of appreciating the relationship, expected by those they address, between what they say and what they see and hear. They are not expected to tell untruths.

Tania, I reiterate, she's good at her job. that said -
What does stand out is all the you knows
You know indicates awareness of the interviewer and also a need to convince and convey, to have what he says taken for granted and not to be questioned.
He uses this particular phrase 17 times in his statement here.
I would normally put the 'you knows' down to being ill-bred, as is often the case. But then Tania goes on to say he is far more articulate in person than suggested by his interview, so I might defer to her on that one as well.
Interesting that she has met Payne. I wonder under what circumstances?
