Dedicated to my pretty new friend Joana Morais, a real fan of the "Comical One"
I was searching Google images for a "tangled web" and came across these photo's of what I can only think are the result of a whacky happy family letting of steam and having a bit of fun after completing a seven year marathon that is the building a log cabin by hand, and I mean by hand.
I am putting up but three photo's of the cabin, (North Carolina) there are in fact lots and lots of them from foundation to finished, if you ever wanted to know what went into building a log cabin, and believe me it's an awful lot, then this is the place for you.
It's worth a visit if only to have a little more appreciation of what were the kind of hardships that faced, and what kind of mettle the early pioneers were made of.
It's not a "proper" web site per se but a photographic record with a brief accompanying explanation. http://www.idgara.net/
Thank you very very much, I really felt emotioned. um abraço e um grande beijo

ReplyDeleteEven having translated it, I'm missing your point Chuck.
ReplyDeleteI was just looking at the date of the post!
And some very early photoshopping.
We have come a long way since then; to what ends I don't really know.

ReplyDeleteI am the woman in the article. Just to set the record straight I was not on holiday but just a long weekend at a campsite that we go to regularly, so I did not have a camera with me as it was not a really special event for us. I am actually one of those people who do not have a mobile phone. The story had only just broken on UK tv which I was watching in Gibraltar so Spanish people did not know about it then and they could have gone out without being challenged, in fact they could still be in Spain unchallenged as there is little interest in the case there. My family thought I was imagining things so I was not brave enough to snatch her or anything like that and the report about the eye defect had not been made public at first so I did not know about that. I do know that I reported and reported it to everyone I could, even before the hotline number and ever since and it has only been since a local ex-pat newspaper followed it up that I know no police ever investigated it

Oh! what a tangled web we weave
When first we practice to deceive!
