It's A Funny Old World: Mountain Dew Edition

.
This little story kind of struck me, something you expect in a movie rather than before the courts in the twenty first century.
The jail time that's being bandied about seems more than a little vicious if not downright inhumane. I shall be interested to see how much time these good old boys end up serving, danged revenuers.

Two of four men indicted in July on charges making and buying moonshine liquor in North Georgia pleaded guilty today in federal court in Gainesville.

Brett Jarrard, 46, of Clayton faces a maximum of 35 years in federal prison. Max Moss, 70, also of Clayton faces five years in prison.

Jarrard and Moss operated a still in the Chattahoochee National Forest in Rabun County, about 100 miles northeast of downtown Atlanta, authorities said.

Two other defendants, Terry Singleton, 66, of Clayton and Kelly Standridge, 65, of Westminster, S.C., await trial. No trial date has been set.

Jarrard and Moss have not been sentenced. source
