I shall reserve judgement on Brown until his performance can be assessed. It's not as though he has a hard act to follow, but this war is as much his as it is Blair's.
On the whole the Brits have been more fortunate inasmuch that the situation in the south is nowhere near as dire than in other areas.
How much respite British forces will have in the future who knows, the wheels are coming off in Afghanistan, I think the boys there could use a bit of back up.
