This is not about justice, it's about having a hard on for locking people up, and I'm not talking about Wilson, Georgia is frightened to death they may have to let some others out of jail if Wilson gets this reduced to a misdemeanour.
Genarlow Wilson will remain behind bars at least until next month, when a judge will decide whether he should be released from prison pending an appeal in his child molestation case.
Court observers are also concerned about the legal precedents the judge might have set Monday when he voided Wilson's prison sentence. There are 1,322 men and women in state prison now who have been convicted of the same charge as Wilson, aggravated child molestation, according to the state Department of Corrections. Of those, 58 were 18 years old or younger at the time of their sentencing. more
And I would love to know of those banged up, how many of those cases involved consensual sex.
