Alleged threats by US authorities, including one from New Jersey prosecutors that "he would fry", would be among issues raised, Mr Cooper said.
And make no mistake fry he will, after the US has nailed him to a cross.
His lawyers had argued that, if extradited, he would face an unknown length of time in pre-trial detention, with no likelihood of bail.
He would also face a long prison sentence - "in the region of 45 years" - and may not be allowed to serve part of the sentence at home in the UK, his lawyers had said.
"American Justice" there ain't no such animal. Take my advice old lad, spend the rest of your time pending your appeal wisely, get yourself a couple of fresh identities, pack yourself a grab bag, have plans A B and C in place and if things look like they are going to go pear shaped be away on your toes, as fast as they can carry you.
There must be dozens of countries around the world that would gladly give you sanctuary, drop old Hugo Chavez a line, he'd probably send a plane for ye.
I think I would rather take a little pill than end up in an American prison. You will die either way. Physically in one sense, mentally in the other. What, really, is the use of being physically alive when you have lost your mind. HH
ReplyDeleteWith Abu Gonzales' record at DoJ of obtaining fewer convictions on terrorism charges than before 9-11, it may lead to this gent not being able to be convicted at all.
ReplyDeleteWe Americans have not only lost our honor, standing, and many freedoms, but with bush stocking DoJ with incompetent cronies we have lost the ability to successfully prosecute big cases, which totally explains why they must have an "enemy combatant" classification so bush can still hang on to those he finds impossible to otherwise convict.
I am shocked that the country which gave the world habeas corpus would so easily abandon centuries old tradition.
American corruption spreads.
As regular TalkLefters you and I both know what his chances would be once he's over there, someone has to pay mightily for all that embarrassment.
ReplyDeleteI'm aware it was no small amount of damage he did but at the end of the day I think it's a case of what it says, some guy having a blast in his bedroom.
And what is happening to our legal system is shameful, I don't know if you read this back in the archives,

It says a lot for what is going on, seems poodle boy is prepared to spunk everything away just as long as he can keep on sucking Dubya's cock.
