That’s to do with individuals’ private lives and legal recognition.

NG [Nick Griffin]: Civil partnerships are a way of sliding towards marriage for everyone through the backdoor. It undermines the institution of marriage, and as a result of that, children will die over the next few years, because they’ll be brought up in homes which aren’t married. They’re not all bad of course, but it’s a weaker way of rearing children, that is what the statistics show.

Nick Griffin, according to his wife.
http://bit.ly/q6ywG

Nick was an oddball, never part of the gang, she says.

After graduating in 1980, Griffin worked full time for the National Front.

I thought he would grow out of it, says Jackie. I was earning money, he wasn't - what a fool I was.

I worked my a*** off trying to keep us going, Jackie moaned.

I've been... working to keep us going financially and bring up four children while he's spent his time playing at stupid politics. If I ever find a woman who I love I would not get on bended knee and ask her to be my civil partner, I would ask her to be my wife. Regardless of what the state wants to label it, we would be getting married in our hearts. I have yet to be given a satisfactory explanation as to why it should not be called married by anyone who does not like the term married when applied to same sex partners. Kind of like I have yet to be given a satisfactory explanation of god. Domestic partners would then be free to enjoy whatever form of religious (or non-religious) ceremony they like, above and beyond the sole legally binding agreement of the civil union.

The above solution would have the added benefit (to secularists) of removing one of the last bits of legal authority from the hands of the church.Steelmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09612062887585525213noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8393578624305189946.post-77279116944263320842008-03-03T13:52:00.000+00:002008-03-03T13:52:00.000+00:00I have to admit the term "marry" just doesn't sit ...I have to admit the term "marry" just doesn't sit right with me

I understand, and I don't blame you.
